Heldeke – Estonia
Heldeke! has been entertaining Tallinn residents and international guests since 2018 and organises 200+ events per year. We’re located in the leafy, hipster neighbourhood of Kalamaja, just a hop, skip and a jump away from Telliskivi and the Tallinn Old Town.
The venue is run by artists for artists. We have a tribune style seating block from a real circus tent that focuses attention to the stage plus a professional sound and lighting setup.
What makes us even more unique is the real understanding of what artists and audiences need to have an engaging and enjoyable experience. Our setup in our modest capacity theatre ensures all shows are personal and intimate, with the whole audience as close to the action as possible without having to turn up to the rehearsals!
Our event curation leans towards supporting fringe style performances such as burlesque, stand-up, circus, theatre, music, spoken word and dance. Heldeke! is the hub and main organising partner for the annual week-long Tallinn Fringe Festival.
In our regular programming we also welcome established names and performances from near and far. We’ve hosted comedians from the London circuit, burlesque performers from Paris, musicians from the US, theatre performers from Australia whilst also booking the best emerging and established local performers in their respective fields.
On top of all of this we have a huge sauna and pool for public and private use, which also doubles as the best backstage in the business.
During the COVID-19 pandemic we setup a professional studio that streams live content to multiple destinations simultaneously and launched Heldeke!TV.
Our studio has been booked for hybrid online+offline conferences and performers have used it to participate in festivals and events they otherwise couldn’t physically attend. We’re playing an active part in providing entertainment and streaming solutions in this ever present online environment through our online studio and Heldeke!TV.
